To my lost love,

It has been three long years since you left this place and left me behind. I still cannot believe that you are gone. I speak of you in the present tense as if you are on your way back. Sadly my heart realizes that you are never coming back. 

I have tried to go on with my life but it seems that I have managed to mess that up too. Why is it that we realize what we have after it is already gone?  We were so different in some ways but the same in others. I realize now that there is no better match for me no matter how much I try to make it different. No one understands me so I push them all away.

I love you - I always have and I always will. I hope you are watching me make all these mistakes and are laughing becuase I can still hear you in my head. A little sign that you are there would also be greatly appreciated.

Before I left I wanted to see how your tree was doing. I know it doesn't look like much becuase it is still winter but it is still holding on.

Well last night was the big night. Julia's Sweet Sixteen. You be so proud of her. What a change from that little terrorist to a beautiful young woman. 

During the candle lighting ceremony she light a candle for you. It was the most heartfelt speech I have heard in a long time.  As with everyone else she played a song for you..  A Stones song - Missing you - how appropriate.

To my horror only a few candles later did she light one for me. You know how I love to get up in front of everyone.  Of course I was followed by a Bon Jovi song.

Oh how I wish you were here to spend this day with us.

My biggest regret is not only knowing I wasn't the best wife to you, but that we didn't have a child together to watch grow.

I guess I will have to follow everyone else's kids..

Look how beautiful Julia is and how handsome Vincent is.  He must take after his uncle.

Came to see you today. As always it was windy as hell. Is that you trying to tell me something? :)  Anyway I brought you a little something to let you know that I am always thinking of you.   You are never too far from my mind my love.
